Technological Innovation
Throughout our 25 year history, The SpineCorporation has consistently invested in technology to develop and improve scoliosis brace treatments.
This continuous investment in cutting-edge technology assures treatment providers of the very highest standards of design and manufacture, giving patients peace of mind that they are receiving the ultimate in brace treatment.
Our simple step-by-step process, from initial patient assessment to brace ordering, makes CMP Brace treatment as straightforward as possible.
Having access to the latest 3D CAD software, our clinical team are able to truly customise each brace to the individual patient. This design takes into consideration not only the specific curve type, but also the magnitude and rigidity of each curve.
No two patients’ CMP braces are ever the same, allowing treatment providers to benefit from being able to provide their patients with a truly individual brace, offering optimal comfort and efficiency.
Brace Measurement
We are delighted to be able to deliver the most advanced scientific processes:
- Latest High-Speed Digital 3D Scanning Technology
- CMP Brace Custom App for straightforward data collection and secure transmission of:
- 3D Digital Scans
- Digital X-Ray Images
- Digital Photographs
- Patient Details
- Brace Order
- Clean – Eliminates the need for Plaster Casts
- Reduced Clinical Time – Quick and Easy Process
- Painless with minimal stress for patients
Brace Design
With over 75 years combined experience, our multidisciplinary clinical team lead the design process and are involved at every stage through to the final quality checking of the finished brace.
- X-rays are carefully reviewed along with the patients’ laying and standing scans. Building a clear picture of the relationship between the internal spinal deformity and the external postural deformity. Our clinician utilises this information to determine the following, necessary for the patient’s brace design.
- Curve Classification, considering
- Number and direction of curves
- Curve magnitude(s)
- Curve level(s)
- Curve flexibility
- Curve Structural / Compensatory nature
- Curve Primary / Secondary evolution
- Sagittal Curve Changes (Lumbar Lordosis & Thoracic Kyphosis)
- Corrective Movement / Postural changes to be incorporated in the brace design.
- The degree of Correction to be incorporated into the individual brace form.
- The Optimal Brace Structure
Only after these details have been determined can the Computer Aided Design process begin.
Brace Manufacture
Using the very latest manufacturing techniques, CMP braces benefit from:
- Latest 7-Axis Robotic Carvers used in the fabrication of each individual patients’ brace.
- Each brace is vacuum-formed and hand finished using the highest medical grade HDPE Plastic.
- Quality Assured – each brace goes through four stage quality checks.
- Large choice of colours and patterns available.
CAD-CAM Computer Aided Design & Manufacture TECHNOLOGY
Our multidisciplinary design team is made up of clinicians, orthotists, and physical therapists as well as experience CAD designers all specialising and working full-time on scoliosis treatment.
Our specialist scoliosis CAD design team.
- Use latest Rodin 4-D CAD software
- Merge each Individual patient’s 3D body scan & x-rays into software
- Normalise the sagittal spine according the patients age specific normative value
- Elongate each section of the spine according to curve magnitude and flexibility
- Build up key bony prominences to avoid pressure issues
- Incorporate corrective pressure and void areas according to curve classification and apical levels
- Modify the body shape according to the curve classification corrective movements specified by the clinical team.
- Build in necessary reinforcement areas.
- Define the finished brace shape
- Smooth blend and final finish the brace form ready for pre-manufacture quality checking by the clinical team.
